Music of the Americas

Altoona Native and hometown favorite Anthony Cornet will perform Gershwin’s timeless Rhapsody in Blue in a concert featuring music from Mexico, South America, and the USA! This program will also include excerpts from Symphony No. 1 by Florence Price, who was the first black female composer to have a symphony performed by a major symphony orchestra. “Music of the Americas” will also include Cristina Spinei’s Whirl, Brent Michael David’s Prayer and Celebration and, of course, a little John Williams, Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein!
