History After Hours: The Collapse of Penn Central

Listen to the story of how the largest railroad in the Northeast became one of America’s largest bankruptcies at that time. Join, Curator Matthew Wolff, as he tells the story of the Penn Central Transportation Company started with the merger of two failing rival railroads but with a legacy that continues today. Learn how a failing industry, poor management, and most importantly, how the mismanagement of money can lead to the collapse of the once powerful railroad in the United States.
Come to the Railroaders Memorial Museum February 1st, 2024. Doors open at 6pm with the presentation at 7pm. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. It will be $10 a person for entry.
