Girl Scout Brownies Going Batty Patch or Girl Scout Juniors Animal Habitats Badge

March 16 @ 8:45 am - 3:00 pm

Go Batty at Lincoln Caverns!
Girl Scout Brownies learn why bats are an important part of our ecological system.  Brownies will also learn why bats are so misunderstood.  Discover which bats live in your neighborhood.  Be challenged to think about how you can be a better neighbor to bats.  Girls will make a recycled bat craft.  Then, they will use their creativity and knowledge to make a poster, educating others about the importance of bats.
Girl Scout Juniors will participate in the Animal Habitats Badge.  Girls will learn about endangered and invasive species.  Then, they will delve into the underground habitat of caves and build a bat house (1 per troop) to put up in their neighborhood.
All participants will enjoy the highlight of the trip by touring TWO beautiful crystal caverns.
